Hello all you McEntire peeps!  Welcome to the family "blog."  For all you old folks out there, this is the fancy new way to spread the word about how and what we're doing and how we're doing it.

I'm starting it (Amy) and will make sure there's a way for everyone to add info - Don't forget, that even if someone isn't adding new info, it doesn't mean they aren't reading what you've written, so don't be shy.  Most of us are curious enough (and bored enough) to log in to see what's up with the family.

We just had the annual family reunion on Saturday the 26th at Marie's swamp.  Thanks to Eileen for all the work!  The kids and I had a great time.

On the plane ride back, as we were seated, a 10 year old girl was escorted onto the plane and was hysterically crying, yelling about not wanting to go.  She was alone, and the attendant was doing his best to calm her down.  I offered to sit by her and try my hand at helping her out - she appeared unconsolable.  I started asking her questions, and through her tears and hyperventilation I got that she was leaving dad in Salt Lake to go back to mom in Olympia.  She had been there for 4 weeks and already missed him terribly - we talked about the divorce and I told her that it wasn't fair.  It seemed to calm her some, and we moved on to more important things like slap jack with Barbie playing cards, and Old Maid.  I'm reminded of how no matter what, family doesn't change.  Circumstances may change, but blood runs thick, and that can never change.   I'm grateful to have spent time in Utah, teaching my kids more about their heritage, introducing them to more family than they knew they had.  "One good thing about family,"  my daughter Natasha said, " is that we don't have to stay in a hotel."  Thanks, Grandma Mac.  We love you -
